My Tome of Magic came today and I’m quite impressed.  I skimmed through the introduction and then immediately jumped to the Shadow Magic portion of the book, which was the most interesting subject to me.  The core class is quite impressive, as are the prestige classes.  I wasn’t too keen on the encounters, but I plan on putting together a half elf shadow mage with a forest stronghold.  That’s usually the approach I take to learning a new class like this.  Start them at first level, then work them up through the levels.

Anyway, I’m really looking forward to getting into the details of the book.
