After flipping through the Spell Compendium, I was wondering what everyone’s thougts were on their favorite, or least favorite spells in the book. Feel free to pipe in.

I don’t have the thing right here with me, but last night was the first chance I really got to
look at it. The only thing I was curious about was a spell called “Wood Woad”. Its a 1st level
druid spell for making a follower construct that is more trouble than it’s worth. Not only
does the thing suck, it takes a caster level of 7 . I just don’t see why they made it
a first level spell that a 7th level caster uses. I guess it makes sense that the spell effect
is crap, so they make it 1st lvl. Filler, I say…
Used once or twice as a joke.
Overall, I thought the Spell Compendium was pretty overrated. I was really excited before it
came out, skimmed through it once, and haven’t seen much of anything that would justify
buying it new.
