D&D News and Information for Dungeon Masters and Players
[powered by WordPress.]
Alright, I’m looking to expand my 3E library. Right now, I don’t have a ton of stuff. I have the three core rulebooks (v3.5), Monster Manual II, and the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting.
What I’m looking for are your favorite products (looking at things as a DM). Doesn’t matter whether it’s an offical product or third party, I just want opinions so I can evaluate what to buy next that will give me the most bang for my buck.

Since you asked…
“Races of Stone” is the strongest of the “Races of…” series. It has a lot of solid material (no pun intended); ranging from a quite good LA+1 race (Goliaths), to a very nice assortment of balanced feats. I am less enthused by the equipment section, but I admit that I have not have had the chance to examine that section in detail.
“Races of Destiny” is a sub-optimal choice. There is little new in it, and nothing that you can not do for yourself with a bit of help from the SRD and some input from the DnD message boards.
“Races of the Wild” comes in somewhere in between the other two. I have my own ideas for the role of Elves and Halflings for my own campaign, so I found little help here. The Raptorian race seems to be a weak attempt to inject an LA-neutral flying race into the DnD canon.
I look forward to the input of others.
Good Luck with the site!
