Gord the Rogue is Back

by @ 2:28 am. Filed under D&D News

Probably around 20 years ago, Gary Gygax began publishing fiction in the Greyhawk campaign setting and his very first novel, Saga of the Old City, is an oldie but a goodie.  It introducted the character Gord the Rogue.  I only read this first book but it looks like Gygax ended up writing six more books.

Now Gord the Rogue is back. Troll Lord Games is republishing the first book, Saga of the Old City, and this time it’s in hardcover.

Adventure Builder Series

by @ 3:35 am. Filed under D&D News

Wolfgang Baur began a series on Writing Your First Adventure yesterday at Wizards.com.  This is part one of six and I really enjoyed it.  I really liked the four biggest errors you can make in an adventure, and right now I’m rethinking some of the things I’m doing as I work on my current campaign.

The World’s Largest Dungeon – Initial Thoughts

by @ 4:51 pm. Filed under D&D News

I got my copy of the World’s Largest Dungeon yesterday and all I have to say is, Wow.  This thing is massive.  You get a hardcover book that’s over 800 pages long, and the map would cover a decent sized wall.  The book says it will take players from level 1 through level 20, and boy do I believe it.

If you’ve played it, let me know.  It almost seems like more of a novelty then anything, but I plan on flipping through it here soon to see how it flows.

Dungeon Crawl Classic Campaign Setting Due Out in September

by @ 2:34 am. Filed under D&D News

I ran across this over at the Goodman Games site, but in September, they’ll be releasing a campaign setting box set to tie together all of the Dungeon Crawl Classics.  The price on this is high, but if you’re into the Dungeon Crawl Classics like I am, this will be a must by heading into the final months of the year.

If you’re interested in a look at what the Dungeon Crawl Classics have to offer, I did a review of the first one, Idylls of the Rat King, a few months back.  You also get two adventures with the boxed set.

The World’s Largest Dungeon

by @ 10:50 am. Filed under D&D News

Alright, I decided to take a pass on Monster Manual IV for now. I thought about picking up Fiend Folio, and I still may because I have some gift cards left from my birthday, but I picked up the World’s Largest Dungeon because I found a decent price for it on Ebay.

Haven’t posted much since Fiendish Codex came out, but I’ll be sure to take a good hard look at my most recent purchase when I get it and post my thoughts.
