Wizard has some excerpts from DMG II out. Be sure to check it out. While I’m usually a fan of most of the official products, I’m not too sure about this one. While I think a relatively new DM might benefit from it, I think the more seasoned of us could go without. While I see the advantage of having multiple Monster Manuals (who doesn’t want more monsters), I don’t really see the need for this.
What does look very cool is Weapons of Legacy, which is expected to come out in July. And maybe it’s just a preference of mine. I like premade monsters and magical items, but I don’t need to be told HOW to use them, which is why I favor the Monster Manuals and books like Weapons of Legacy.
Also set to come out this month is the Waterdeep resource. You can also read an excerpt here. I’ll have to flip through this one and think about whether this could fit into my campaign before buying it.
Finally, Room 7 of Undermountain has been put out. Be sure to check this out because it might be the coolest one yet.
